Jacqui Jackson is 4th generation partner of Thomas Jardine & Co; Non Exec Director of Bruce and Luke’s Coffee Ltd, Chair of the FSA Regulating our Future Expert Advisory Group and Entrepreneur in Residence and Honorary Teaching Fellow at Lancaster University Management School
Jacqui is an expert in Leadership Learning, Family Business and Food and has a wealth of experience in Peer Group Facilitation, Board Facilitation and Mentoring
Previous experience includes: Head of Family Business Engagement and Director of Leadership Programmes (SME) Lancaster University Management School; MD Owner of her fourth-generation family business and Vice Chairman SPAR (UK) Ltd, a £3.2bn retail group which co-ordinates in excess of 1300 family owners of 2500 stores and 5 distribution center’s in the UK.
Tim Farron became an MP for Westmorland and Lonsdale in 2005 ending a 95 year rule by the Tories, winning by 267 votes. In the 2010 general election Tim maintained his seat with a strong 60% majority and achieved an 11.1% swing from the Conservatives.
In March 2006 Tim became Parliamentary Private Secretary to the then party leader Ming Campbell. He was then promoted, in December 2007, to the Lib Dem Shadow Cabinet and served as the Shadow Minister for the Countryside and Rural Affairs.
Tim was elected as the national President of the Liberal Democrats in November 2010 winning 53% of the vote and took over the role in January 2011. He was re-elected unopposed in autumn 2012 and continued for the full term until handing over the role at the beginning of January 2015.
Since becoming an MP in 2005 Tim has dealt with over 67,000 constituents cases in his office and held over 600 advice surgeries in South Lakeland.
Nigel Wilkinson is the Managing Director of Windermere Lake Cruises Limited and is Cumbria LEP Board lead on Rural and Visitor Economy. His vast knowledge and experience in the hospitality and tourism industries is second to none.
Sarah Swindley became Director of the Lake District Foundation in September this year, recruited to take forward the legacy of Nurture Lakeland and grow a strong, vibrant new charity connecting businesses and visitors with conservation causes. She brings many years’ experience as a charity CEO, working regionally and nationally as a system leader. She has raised over £15 million from a range of sources in the past few years and will ensure that the wildlife, cultural heritage and landscapes to the Lake District are here for future generations to visit and enjoy.
